Rikki Pegg, a senior at Richmond High School, has signed a letter of intent to play tennis for Indiana University East starting with the 2011-12 school year.

Pegg played No. 1 doubles for Richmond as a junior.

"Rikki is a natural fit for our tennis program," said Red Wolves coach Kyle Wright. "She knows several of our current players, and her planned area of study is one of IU East's strengths.

"We want the top area tennis players to know they have a home at IU East, and Rikki is certainly one of the area's top players."

Pegg has won the RHS program's most improved player award.

Rikki is the daughter of Rick and Emily Pegg. She plans to major in nursing.

She chose IU East because is is "close to home and has a nice nursing program."

She is the first signee in IU East's 2011 women's tennis recruiting class.

IU East competed in its first NAIA women's tennis season during the fall.
