Red Wolves - IU East

The Indiana University East men's golf team will compete at the Cincinnati Christian University Invitational on April 14 and 15 at Miami Whitewater in Harrison, Ohio.

The first round tees off April 14 at noon.

The final round tees off April 15 at 9 a.m.

MILESTONE MARKER

IU East seeks its first tournament win since the 2009 season.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East finished fourth out of four teams at the IU East Red Wolves Spring Invitational on April 8.

The Red Wolves shot a team score of 320, their best score since 2009. Just 12 strokes separated the four teams in the tournament.

Senior Nick Ary (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville High School) tied for second place with a 75.

IU East finished second out of four teams at the 2010 Cincinnati Christian Invitational with a 36-hole score of 687.

Ary finished second with a two-day score of 157.

Brescia won the 2010 CCU Invitational but will not compete in the event this season.

The Bearcats' Garrett Veal was medalist at the 2010 CCU Invitational with a 36-hole score of 151.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

IU East will compete against four fellow Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference programs.

Alice Lloyd College, Berea College and Asbury University are scheduled to join the Red Wolves and host Cincinnati Christian University in the five-team tournament.

Alice Lloyd and Asbury are first-year programs.

IU East has finished ahead of all four teams at least once this season.

Asbury and CCU finished two strokes and one stroke, respectively, ahead of IU East during the Red Wolves' home event on April 8.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Ary and freshman Wes Drees (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles High School) have shot 80 or better in every round this spring.

Sophomore Derrick McNeely (Connersville, Ind./Connersville High School) is coming off of a career-best 80 at the IU East Red Wolves Spring Invitational.

The school record for men's individual 18-hole score is 71, established by Ary in 2009.

The school record for men's individual 36-hole score is 147, most recently by Ary this season.

The school record for men's team 18-hole score is 312, established in 2009.

The school record for men's team 36-hole score is 650, established in 2009.
