Red Wolves - IU East

The Indiana University East men's basketball team hosts Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Berea College on Jan. 28.

Tipoff is at 2 p.m. at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.

The NAIA Division II No. 13 Red Wolves are 19-5 overall and 6-1 in the KIAC.

The Mountaineers are 7-14 overall and 2-4 in the KIAC.

MILESTONE MARKER

IU East sophomore guard Matt Trimnell (Seymour, Ind./Seymour High School) needs 17 points to join the IU East 1,000-point club.

Trimnell is on the verge of becoming the fourth IU East player to score 1,000 career points in NAIA play.

He would be the first Red Wolf to achieve the feat as a sophomore.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East is coming off of a 103-89 win at Cincinnati Christian University on Jan. 26. The Red Wolves pulled into a tie for first place in the KIAC standings.

Berea is coming off of an 80-56 home loss against Indiana University Southeast on Jan. 24.

The Red Wolves lead the all-time series against Berea 7-3, including three double-digit victories last season.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Berea will arrive in Richmond looking to end a three-game losing streak.

The Mountaineers crash the boards as well as any team in the country, ranking fifth in the NAIA Division II with 14.4 offensive rebounds per game.

Harry Cross leads Berea with 14.0 points and 3.8 assists per game.

Tevin Webster adds 10.1 points and a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game.

NUMBERS OF NOTE

IU East is 14-0 when it outrebounds its opponent or is even.

The Red Wolves are 5-5 when they do not.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

IU East leading scorer Marcus Isaac has scored in double figures in 23 of IU East's 24 games this year.
