
Indiana University East freshmen Brandon Muncie and Andrea Brower claimed Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced April 9.
Muncie (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North High School) became the first IU East athlete to qualify for a national meet after finishing first in the long jump with a mark of 23-11 at the Anderson University Easter Invitational on April 5.
He also finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 43-5. He was the first IU East men's track and field athlete to take part in the triple jump.
Brower (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton High School) finished first in the shot put and broke her own school record with a mark of 40-7.
It's the first KIAC weekly honor for Muncie and the second in a row for Brower.
