
The Indiana University East competitive cheer and dance teams compete at the NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational April 11-15 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The IU East dance team competes in the NAIA Dance-Small division at 9:02 a.m. on April 12 at Peabody Auditorium.
The IU East cheer team competes in the NAIA All-Girl division at 1:40 p.m. on April 12 at The Band Shell.
Finals are on April 13.
MILESTONE MARKER
This is IU East's first appearance at an the NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational. This is the first varsity season for IU East's competitive cheer and dance programs.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Wolves' competitive cheer squad received a silver bid to the NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational after finishing second in the All-Girl Cheer division at the NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance Group 4 Qualifying Event on Feb. 11 at Indiana University Northwest.
The IU East competitive dance team took first place in the Dance Performance competition the same day.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Other schools in the NAIA All-Girl cheer division are: Oklahoma City University, Missouri Baptist University and Indiana University Northwest.
Oklahoma City won the Cheer-Large Coed division at the 2011 NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational.
Other schools in the NAIA Dance-small division are: Midland University, Wayland Baptist University, Concordia University (Nebraska), Benedictine College and Baker University.
Baker won the Dance-Small division at the 2011 NCA/NDA NAIA Invitational.
