HAMILTON, Ohio - Indiana University East redshirt freshman golfer Joey Smart is tied for first place after the first round of the Cincinnati Christian University Spring Invitational on April 19.

Smart (Brookville, Ind./Morehead State University) shot 76 on the par 71, 6,634-yard Miami Whitewater course.

IU East is third in the team standings after firing a 335. Host CCU leads the tournament at 318.

The final round of the 36-hole tournament is April 20.
