FRANKLIN, Ind. - Indiana University East golfers Kristin Smith and Asia Mathis both shot their spring season bests in the opening round of the Franklin College Lady Grizzly Invitational at Hillview County Club on April 22.

Smith (Richmond, Ind./Centerville High School), a freshman, shot 109, and Mathis (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central High School), a redshirt freshman, shot 111 on the par 72, 5,867-yard course.

IU East was unable to post a team score.

The 36-hole tournament concludes April 22.
