
RENSSELAER, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's and women's tennis teams both lost at NCAA Division II opponent Saint Joseph's College on April 21.
The Red Wolves men finished the day on a winning note with a 6-3 exhibition victory against Prairie State College later April 21.
The IU East men are 4-11 on their spring season. Saint Joseph's is 16-14.
The IU East women are 3-6 on their spring season. The Pumas are 14-13.
IU East freshman Ty Butler (Wadesville, Ind./North Posey High School) won at No 1 singles and No. 1 doubles against Prairie State.
The Red Wolves swept all three doubles matches against Prairie State. The Pioneer doubles teams had entered the day with a 19-8 record, including a 9-0 mark at No. 1 doubles.
Prairie State (6-4) is an NJCAA program. By rule, NAIA schools are not allowed to count results against NJCAA programs in their win-loss record.
Freshmen Kara Haynes (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville High School) and Emily Underwood (Milton, Ind./Lincoln High School) won at No. 3 doubles for the IU East women against Saint Joseph's.
