
FRANKLIN, Ind. - Indiana University East redshirt freshman Asia Mathis shot a season-best 104 in the final round of the Franklin College Lady Grizzly Invitational at Hillview County Club on April 22.
Mathis finished the two-day tournament with a 36-hole score of 215 on the par 72, 5,867-yard course.
The event concluded the season for the IU East women's golf team.
Mathis' round included a 20-foot putt from the fringe for a par on the second hole.
"Asia started out today's round playing with a lot of confidence," said IU East coach Von Ebeling. "She made the turn with one of her best nine-hole scores and she finished with her best score of the year."
IU East freshman Kristin Smith (Richmond, Ind./Centerville High School) carded a two-day total of 219, including a 110 in the final round.
Smith's round was highlighted by a chip-in from 25 feet out.
"Kristin played another consistent round," Ebeling said.
Franklin won the team title with a 679. Indiana Tech's Megan Garrison was medalist with a 158.
