
PRESTONBURG, Ky. - The Indiana University East men's golf team was in third place after 18 holes at the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on April 26 at StoneCrest Golf Course.
IU East had a team score of 319. Three-time defending champion Brescia University led with a 308.
The golfers played 27 holes on April 26, but only the 18-hole scores were tabulated. The final 27 holes of the 54-hole tournament are April 27.
The team champion and individual medalist advance to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship May 22-25 at Creekside Country Club in Salem, Oreg.
Zach Lemons of Asbury University was the 18-hole leader with an even-par 72 on the 7,011-yard course.
IU East freshman Luke Warren (Vallonia, Ind./Brownstown Central High School) led IU East with a 77.
The Red Wolves seek their first KIAC title since 2008.
