Indiana University East earned a national first place honor, a top district honor and three top 10 finishes in national publication contest results announced earlier this summer.
The Red Wolves sports information department's women's track and field guide placed first in the NAIA-Sports Information Directors of America (NAIA-SIDA) Individual Sport Brochure category.
IU East sports information director Kyle Wright's profile of IU East registrar/public address announcer Dennis Hicks and his daughter, former Red Wolves volleyball player Victoria Hicks, placed first in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Fred S. Stabley Sr. Writing Contest for District 5.
Wright also claimed three top 10 finishes in the NAIA-SIDA Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contest Season Preview/Review category.
The men's basketball season preview was fourth. The women's volleyball season preview was fifth. The men's cross country season preview was eighth.
The NAIA-SIDA contest is open to all NAIA schools.
The CoSIDA contest is open to all NCAA and NAIA schools. District 5 includes Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario and Manitoba.
The CoSIDA honor is IU East's first CoSIDA recognition.
IU East has a dozen top 10 finishes in NAIA-SIDA contests over the past three years, including two first place awards.
