
VIGO, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's cross country team finished 24th at the Indiana Intercollegiates on Sept. 14 at Indiana State University's LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
The Red Wolves finished ahead of three teams, the most they've beaten in five trips to the Indiana Intercollegiates.
The meet is open to all collegiate cross country programs in Indiana.
Sophomore Seth Prince (Albany, Ind./Delta High School) led IU East with a 154th-place finish in 28:44.
The IU East women were unable to field a full team.
Freshman Kearstin McDaniel (Hagerstown, Ind./Hagerstown High School) finished 157th in 22:04.
"Good effort by all of our runners," said IU East coach Brett Crowley. "Running on a top-flight course against great competition is good for us. It is time to rest and get ready for the next race."
Indiana University won the men's and women's team titles.
John Mascari of Indiana State won the men's 8K race in 24:42.4.
The Hoosiers' Kelsey Duerksen won the women's 5K race in 17:51.2.
The Red Wolves run at the Earlham College Invitational on Sept. 29.
