The Red Wolves will pose a triple threat in their final event of the fall season.

The Indiana University East women's golf team concludes its fall season Oct. 2 and 3 at the Auld Crafter Kisor Classic at Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.

Three Red Wolves - freshman Courtney Barlage (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles High School), freshman Allyson Kenworthy (Hagerstown, Ind./Hagerstown High School) and freshman Kelli Moore (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe High School) - will compete as individuals. IU East will not be able to field a full team because of injuries.

"We'll be trying for the best individual scores we can get," said Red Wolves coach Von Ebeling. "I feel confident they will persevere through this 36-hole stroke play event and round out the fall season with success."

Ebeling got familiar with the Cumberland Trail course when IU East took part in the men's Auld Crafter Kisor Classic last month. He says the challenging layout is a good test for the Red Wolves' golfers.

"The course is a tough course," he said. "It's one we'd like to be invited back to in the future."

Barlage led IU East with a 94 at its most recent competition, the Manchester College Fall Golf Invitational on Sept. 19.

"Before the Manchester Invitational, Courtney had some technical issues she was working hard to correct," Ebeling said. "Even though she didn't have her best score of the season, she kept a solid mental attitude and came back to practice working hard at studying her stroke. I believe she has it all lined up now and expect her to swing her way to the top of the field."

Kenworthy had a 100 at Manchester.

"Allyson Kenworthy played well in her first college competition and would be our No. 2 golfer," Ebeling said.

Moore shot 122 at Manchester.

"Kelli struggled a bit in the last competition but has been relentless at staying on the driving range and taking advice from others. She continues to work on the tough shots out of the sand and relentlessly practices her chip shots," Ebeling said.

The Red Wolves' fourth golfer, sophomore Whitney Fisher (Hagerstown, Ind./Hagerstown High School), is out with a knee injury.

The IU East golf teams compete in a short fall season. The regular golf seasons are in the spring.

"These women deserve much credit for using the honor system," Ebeling said. "They practice outside of organized practice times, with intensity, and go above and beyond by playing our home course as often as they can. They also play on other courses in the surrounding areas without being asked. It takes a remarkable sense of drive to manage and balance the busy schedules these athletes have with class, practices and employment."
