Two teams in the midst of turnaround seasons collide Sept. 22.
The Indiana University East volleyball team travels to Urbana University for a 7 p.m. match.
The Red Wolves (13-3) have won two in a row and are quickly approaching their 2008 win total of 15. The Blue Knights (8-7), an NCAA Division II program, have won three in a row and already have surpassed their win total for all of 2008.
"Urbana is a pretty solid program," IU East coach Charlie Brown said. "I know they've recruited well and they're playing pretty well this year. We'll have to step up and match their effort.
"It will be a good test for us to see if we can respond."
IU East and Urbana split two matches in 2008.
The Red Wolves enter the match ranked 50th in the NAIA in hitting percentage at .241. Freshman setter Lauren Crump leads the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and is 31st in the NAIA at 9.7 assists per game. Freshman middle hitter Breezy Strete (Troy, Ohio/Troy High School) leads the KIAC in kills per game with 3.0.
