MIDWAY, Ky. - The Indiana University East women's tennis team improves to 4-0 in the River States Conference after a 9-0 win over Midway University April 9. The Red Wolves improve to 13-5 on the season.


* IU East fought windy conditions to shut out the Eagles. Morgan Jackson (FR/Vandalia, Ohio) teamed up with Krystal Schmidt (FR/Chrisney, Ind.) to win 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. Jackson also won her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-4.


* Jackson and Schmidt's No. 1 doubles win was the closet doubles match of the day.
* Schmidt won her No. 4 singles match 6-4, 6-1.
* Kaylin Venezia (FR/Avon, Ind.) and Brooklyn Hubbard (FR/Camden, Ohio) teamed up at No. 2 doubles to sweep their match 8-0.


"The Red Wolves women's tennis team were all business today in their tennis match against Midway University.  The Red Wolves played hard, focused tennis and never let up from the beginning to the last point played.  Windy conditions were a challenge but the Red Wolves played through it.  Very proud of the strong, competitive play of the Red Wolves women's tennis team!" - IU East coach Erskine Ratchford


Both IU East men's and women's tennis teams return home April 11 to host Shawnee State University. Match time is set for 3 p.m. at Glen Miller Park.
