ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. - The Indiana University East women's team has advanced to the River State Conference tournament finals following wins against Alice Lloyd College and Indiana University Southeast April 28.

The tournament is being held at the Freeman Lake Tennis Complex in Elizabethtown, Ky.

The Red Wolves' women had a clean sweep against Alice Lloyd with a 9-0 win to advance to the semifinals against IU Southeast where they won 5-2. IU East dropped a 5-4 decision to the Grenadiers during regular season play.

The IU East men faced IU Southeast in the opening round of their bracket. The Red Wolves suffered a 5-0 loss eliminating them from the tournament.

KEY MOMENT

* The IU East women were the No. 3 seed going into the tournament making their match against No. 2 IU Southeast an upset.
* Brooklyn Hubbard (FR/Camden, Ohio) took a close match at No. 3 singles, defeating Anne Mattox 6-4, 7-5.
 
SIGNIFICANT STATS

* Hubbard teamed up with Kaylin Venezia (FR/Avon, Ind.) for a No. 2 doubles win 8-0 against the Grenadiers.
* Venezia dropped a tight match with IU Southeast's Alexis Mattox at No. 2 singles losing 7-6(3), 6-1.
* Morgan Jackson (FR/Vandalia, Ohio) and Krystal Schmidt (FR/Chrisney, Ind.) won their No. 1 doubles match against Alice Lloyd 8-4. Jackson won at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1.
* Hunter Wilson (SO/Gratis, Ohio) had the closest men's match at No. 3 doubles falling to IU Southeast's Garrett Fensler 6-2, 6-1.

The IU East women's team faces the No. 1 seed Asbury University April 29 for the championship match of the RSC tournament. The finals match time has been changed from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. due to expected overnight weather but will still be played at the Freeman Lake Tennis Complex in Elizabethtown, Ky. IU East needs a win against Asbury for a berth into the national tournament.
