IU East competed against six Top 30 teams in Kentucky.

LONDON, Ky. - Bre Nowak's 14th-place finish led the Indiana University East women's golf team at the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.

Nowak carded a 36-hole score of 167 on the par 72, 6,007-yard Crooked Creek Golf Community course, including an 85 in the final round Sept. 12.

IU East finished the event with a 36-hole team score of 716.

KEY MOMENTS

* Lexie Fields also shot 85 in the final round and finished 24th with a 36-hole score of 172.

NUMBERS OF NOTE

* Six of the nine teams in the tournament were ranked in the Top 30 in the NAIA women's golf preseason poll.

* Cumberlands won the event with a 36-hole team score of 632. The Patriots' Lucia Pena was medalist with a 151.
