RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's soccer opened up River States Conference play on Sept. 30 at Centerville High School with a 1-0 defeat against Ohio Christian.

With the loss, the Red Wolves drop to 5-4-1. The Trailblazers improve to 2-7.

In just the eighth minute, Ohio Christian's Colin Dorman was awarded a penalty kick on a foul that occurred inside the box. Dorman found the back of the net, and that turned out to be the only goal of the match.

* There were 23 total fouls, four yellow cards, and one red card combined.

* IU East outshot Ohio Christian 11-4.

* IU East had four corner kicks for the match. OCU had two.

"Today was a tough one, I thought we played well, but credit Ohio Christian. They did what they needed to do and got on the board early. This is conference play, with the stakes high and tensions high. We didn't generate enough chances to win. We have a lot of freshman and we are definitely still learning." – IU East coach Steve Moore

The Red Wolves continue their River States Conference play with a pair of road matches, against WVU Tech on Oct. 5 and then again on Oct. 7 against Rio Grande.
