RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East volleyball team split a pair of home matches Sept. 30 during a River States Conference quad-match on Lingle Court.

IU East (11-14, 5-1) started the day with a 25-22, 25-18, 22-25, 25-12 setback against Indiana University Kokomo (13-8, 6-0) in a matchup of the league's division leaders.

The Red Wolves bounced back in the afternoon for an 18-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22 win against Cincinnati Christian University (5-11, 1-3).

KEY MOMENTS

* Bre Kopke put away four kills in a 5-2 run to finish the second set against Cincinnati Christian.

* IU East then started the third set against Cincinnati Christian with a 10-1 spurt and controlled the match the rest of the way.

* An 8-1 run was the key for IU East in the third set victory against IU Kokomo. The Cougars answered with a 16-5 start to the fourth set to squelch IU East's comeback bid.

NUMBERS OF NOTE

* Bre Kopke went for a career-high 21 kills in just three sets against Cincinnati Christian.

* Madison Yoder made 50 digs on the day, including 31 against IU Kokomo.

* IU East hit over .200 in the last three sets against Cincinnati Christian, including a .359 mark in the fourth set.
