IU East swept the top men's honors at the RSC Fall Preview.

UNION, Ky. - Tyler Pearson and the Indiana University East men's golf team got a leg up on the competition for this season's River States Conference honors.

Pearson was medalist and IU East won the men's team title at the River States Conference Fall Preview, which concluded Oct. 10 at a soggy Lassing Pointe Golf Club.

Scores from the 54-hole Fall Preview are used to determine the league's all-conference team and player of the year.

The IU East women finished third.

KEY MOMENTS

* Bre Nowak led the IU East women with a fourth-place finish and a 54-hole score of 236, seven strokes better than her own previous program-best 54-hole score.

NUMBERS OF NOTE

* Pearson finished with a 54-hole score of 213, the lowest 54-hole score in program history.

* The 36-hole score for the IU East men (580) and the 54-hole score (886) are program bests.

* The IU East men won their third event of the fall.

* The 54-hole score for the IU East women (1,006) is a program-best.

The Fall Preview concluded the fall schedule for the IU East women.

The IU East men conclude their fall season at the NAIA Preview Tournament at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., on Oct. 16 and 17. The event will be played at the same course where the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships will be held in the spring.

The championship seasons for both IU East golf programs are in the spring.
