The Red Wolves expect to have a "dogfight" on their hands Nov. 2.
The Indiana University East volleyball team (23-11) travels to Huntington University (15-14) for a 7 p.m. match.
The Red Wolves have two wins against the Foresters this season. IU East beat Huntington in four games at the Grace College Ramada Plaza Tournament in August. The Red Wolves rallied past the Foresters in five games Sept. 16 in Richmond."It will be a dogfight," IU East coach Charlie Brown said. "Huntington has played a tough schedule and competed very well.
"It will be interesting to see how we compete against them for the third time."
Huntington's weapons include senior outside hitter Brittney Smelser (40th in the NAIA in kills per game) and a serving rotation that is in the NAIA's top 50 in aces per game.
IU East freshman setter Lauren Crump (Indianapolis, Ind./Scecina Memorial High School) continues to rank in the NAIA's top 50 in assists per game with 9.6.
The Huntington match is IU East's last tune-up before matches against Berea College and Indiana University Southeast on Nov. 7 at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center. The IU East-IU Southeast match at 2 p.m. will determine the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title.
