The Red Wolves get another shot at a win against a nationally ranked team on Nov. 6, and they'll do it much closer to home.

The Indiana University East men's basketball team faces Warner University on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. on the first day of the Cincinnati Christian University Tipoff Classic. The Red Wolves will play Miami University Hamilton on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. to conclude the event.

The Red Wolves (0-2) are coming off of close losses at Southern Oregon University and No. 11 Oregon Institute of Technology. This is the season opener for Warner. The Royals went 21-11 last season and are ranked 17th in the NAIA Division II coaches poll.

The Royals return six players. Derell Henderson, a 6-7 senior forward, leads the returnees. Henderson was a third-team NAIA Division II All-American and Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year. He led Warner in scoring (15.7 ppg), rebounds (9.6 rpg), steals (1.6 spg) and blocks (1.0 bpg).

"Warner Southern is going to be a big test. They've got a lot of great athletes. We've got to do a good job of guarding the basketball and executing our offense," IU East coach Mark Hester said.

Miami Hamilton opened its season with a 69-43 loss at Taylor University on Nov. 3. Brook Johnson scored 10 points for MU Hamilton against Taylor. Nate Seymour added nine points. The Harriers have no seniors. Ten of their 11 players are freshmen or sophomores.

"I got a report that they play a lot of zone and are pretty small. We haven't seen a lot of zone this year so it will be a good opportunity for us to look at our zone offense," Hester said.

Junior guard Tyler Rigby (Bryant, Ind./Jay County High School) led the Red Wolves with 17 ppg in the two games in Oregon. Senior forward Justin Hawkins (Evansville, Ind./Kentucky Wesleyan College) and senior center Noah Douglas (Indianapolis, Ind./St. Joseph's College) added 13.5 ppg apiece. Hawkins led IU East with 5.5 rebounds per game.
