The Indiana University East men's golf team saved its best for last.

The Red Wolves shot their best 18-hole round of the season with a 332 in the final round of the Auld Crafters Kisor Classic on Sept. 12 at Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.

IU East finished 14th of 15 teams with a two-day 54-hole team score of 1,023.

"The golfers persevered the 7,205-yard course at Cumberland Trail Golf Course for three rounds," Red Wolves coach Von Ebeling said. "This added up to over 12 miles of walking with clubs under the hot sun. By combining the efforts of the approximately 100 golfers, they could have walked a relay from Columbus, Ohio, to the Florida Keys

"I want to congratulate all who participated and thank Ohio Dominican University and Otterbein College for the opportunity to compete. I further want to thank the families of the golfers who urged the players on and were there giving their support."

Nick Ary (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville High School) led IU East with a 77 on Sept. 12 and a 237 for the tournament. Ary tied for 47th place in the 97-player field. Riley McGinsie (Indianapolis, Ind./Beech Grove High School) had a 78 on Sept. 12 and a 242 for the tournament, good for 66th place.

"I would like to see these two golfers increase their competitive edge against one another in practice and competition," Ebeling said.
