The Red Wolves' golf scores swung in the right direction.
The Indiana University East men's golf team knocked more than 100 strokes off of its previous 36-hole score during the first day of the Auld Crafters Kisor Classic at Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.
The Red Wolves have a team score of 691 after 36 holes. IU East is 14th or 15th in the 15-team field, pending a scoring ruling for a golfer from another school.
The Red Wolves shot 810 for 36 holes at their first fall tournament.
Nick Ary (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville High School) led IU East with rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160 total.
Riley McGinsie (Indianapolis, Ind./Beech Grove High School) shot rounds of 81 and 83 for a 164 total. Mark Bevins (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village High School) shot rounds of 84 and 87 for a 171 total. Brock Edwards (Winchester, Ind./Winchester High School) carded a 99 and 97 for a 196 total. Holden Smith (New Paris, Ohio) rounded out the lineup with scores of 120 and 114 for a 234 total.
Derrick McNeely (Connersville, Ind./Connersville High School) competed as an individual and shot rounds of 96 and 95 for a 191 total.
Humber College leads the tournament with a 36-hole score of 581. The two-day tournament concludes Sept. 12.
