The opposition has changed, but the situation remains the same.

The Indiana University East men's basketball team needs a win Thursday at Asbury College to stay in the top three in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. in Wilmore, Ky.

The Red Wolves (12-9, 4-3 KIAC) stayed in the KIAC's top three with a 91-87 win Feb. 1 against Berea College.

Asbury (12-12, 4-3) has won three in a row to climb into a tie for third place in the KIAC.

The winner of this game will move into second place in the KIAC standings.

"This is a big game," said sophomore guard Steve Shepherd (Indianapolis, Ind./Arlington High School).

"This is a battle to stay in the top half of the conference. If we win it will help us out, and they need a win to get in the upper half of the conference."

The Red Wolves defeated the Eagles 84-56 in Richmond on Jan. 14.

Junior guard Phillip Morrison leads Asbury with 20.4 points per game and 3.0 assists per game.

Freshman forward Justin Jones leads Asbury with 8.9 rebounds per game and is sixth in the NAIA Division II with 2.1 blocks per game.

Junior guard Tyler Rigby (Bryant, Ind./Jay County High School) leads IU East with 19 points per game. Rigby has scored at least 20 points in 11 consecutive games.

Rigby needs 59 more points to become the first IU East player to score 1,000 career points in NAIA competition.

Senior forward Noah Douglas (Indianapolis, Ind./St. Joseph's College) adds 12.1 points per game and ranks 16th in the NAIA Division II in field goal percentage at .580.

Senior guard Bijon Jones (Jackson, Tenn./Southeast Missouri State University) contributes 11.2 points per game and is 27th in the NAIA Division II in 3-point field goal percentage at .426.

Sophomore guard David Sanders averages 9.6 points per game and is 33rd in the NAIA Division II in assists per game with 4.3
