The Red Wolves say a different team will show up this time.

The Indiana University East men's basketball team hopes to improve on its performance in a Jan. 16 loss at Brescia University when the teams meet again Feb. 9.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. in the Richmond High School Tiernan Center.

Brescia (17-9, 6-3) holds sole possession of second place in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

IU East (12-10, 4-4) is tied for fourth in the KIAC. The Red Wolves have lost three of five, a slump that started with the Jan. 16 loss at Brescia.

"I just think when we went (to Brescia) we didn't play as well as we could have," said senior forward Noah Douglas (Indianapolis, Ind./St. Joseph's College). "They haven't seen our best.

"We've kind of struggled on the road, so we hope to use our success at home to pay them back."

IU East is 7-1 at home this season.

The Bearcats boast the potent one-two scoring punch of senior guard Andrew Howard and senior forward Anthony Ingram.

Howard averages 19.3 points per game. Ingram adds 18.5 points per game, including a 34-point outing in the first IU East-Brescia meeting.

IU East gets 19.3 points per game from junior guard Tyler Rigby (Bryant, Ind./Jay County High School), who has scored at least 20 points in 12 consecutive games.

Rigby needs 33 points to become the first IU East played to score 1,000 career points in NAIA competition.

Douglas adds 12.0 points per game and leads the Red Wolves with 6.4 rebounds per game.

Senior guard Bijon Jones (Jackson, Tenn./Southeast Missouri State University) averages 11.8 points per game and is 36th in the NAIA Division II in 3-point field goal percentage at .416.

Sophomore guard David Sanders contributes 9.4 points per game and is 34th in the NAIA Division II with 4.2 assists per game.

IU East seeks its first victory against Brescia since joining the NAIA for the 2007-08 season.

"Brescia is a good team and should bring out the best is us," Douglas said. "It should be a good game."
