The Red Wolves got good news during the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after all.

Indiana University East men's basketball junior Tyler Rigby (Bryant, Ind./Jay County High School) was named to the All-KIAC team, the league announced Feb. 26 during the KIAC Tournament semifinals.

IU East's season ended Feb. 23 with a loss against Asbury College in the KIAC Tournament quarterfinals, but Rigby's honor gave the Red Wolves a presence during the tournament's final weekend.

Rigby averaged 19.1 points per game during his junior season, the fourth-best average in the KIAC.

Rigby had a string of 12 consecutive games with at least 20 points, with eight of those games against KIAC opponents.

He ranked in the NAIA Division II's top 50 in five offensive categories - 3-point field goal percentage (11th at .435), points per game (23rd at 19.1), total points (39th with 536), field goal percentage (44th at .516) and 3-point field goals per game (47th with 2.4).

Rigby finished his junior season with 1,079 career points at IU East. He became the Red Wolves' NAIA career points record holder and also became the first IU East player to score 1,000 points in NAIA competition.

He now holds IU East's NAIA career school records for games started (55), field goals (384) and 3-point field goals (148).

Rigby also was an All-KIAC selection for the 2008-09 season. He was the KIAC Player of the Week twice during the 2009-10 season.

IU East finished 14-14.

Mikah Turner of Berea College was named KIAC Player of the Year.
