The Indiana University East volleyball team conducted a volleyball clinic for a teen youth group on March 14 at Seton Catholic Elementary.

"By teaching something to someone else, you learn from it yourself," said Red Wolves freshman Lauren Crump.

"The kids had fun and really opened up at the end, and they played really well."

The Red Wolves demonstrated the basics of volleyball for a group of about 15 teens, and then led a spirited match.

IU East players Breezy Strete, Madison Qualkenbush, Jessica White, Courtney Flory, Kristin Waechter and Akeyta Mayes joined Crump to lead the clinic.

Crump attends neighboring Holy Family Church and got the idea for a volleyball clinic after chats with the teen youth group's leader.

"They had tried to play before, and I figured we could show them the basics and help them play," Crump said.

The Red Wolves had the teens jump serving, putting away kills and making tough digs by the end of the evening.

IU East plays home matches at Seton Catholic High School a few miles down the road.
