KENDALLVILLE - The scores improved for the Indiana University East men's golf team on the second day of the St. Francis Invitational, but the Red Wolves still finished 15th of 15 teams in their first tournament of the fall season.
IU East followed up its 413 in the first round Aug. 31 with a 397 on Sept. 1 at Noblehawk Golf Club. The Red Wolves finished with an 810 total.
Indiana Wesleyan won the event with a 592.
Freshman Derrick McNeely (Connersville, Ind./Connersville High School) led IU East with a two-day total of 175, including an 87 on Sept. 1. Brock Edwards (Winchester, Ind./Winchester High School) had a 184, including a 91 in the second round. Kacey Stollar (Greenville, Ohio/The Villages, Fla., High School)) shot a 113 in the second round and finished at 213. Holden Smith (New Paris, Ohio/National Trail High School) shot a 119 on both days to finish at 238.
