A versatile 'dog will run with the Wolves.
Brandon Longworth, a three-sport athlete at Centerville High School, has signed a letter of intent to compete in track and field for Indiana University East.
Red Wolves track and field coach Tyler Daugherty announced the signing July 30.
Longworth competed in track and field, football and basketball at Centerville.
He qualified for the IHSAA track and field regional regional in the 110-meter hurdles and 4x100-meter relay as a senior. He also helped Centerville's 4x100 relay win a conference championship.
He was the third-leading tackler for the Bulldogs football team, which went 9-2 and won a share of a conference championship.
He also played for Centerville's sectional champion boys basketball team.
Longworth competed in various track and field events for Centerville. He plans to focus on the hurdles for IU East.
His personal-best 110-meter hurdles time of 15.65 would have won IU East's conference meet by more than a second.
He has personal-best marks of 6-0 in the high jump, 18-11 in the long jump and 10.6 in the 100-meter dash.
"Obviously he's very skilled and can compete in many different events," Daugherty said. "We're very excited to have that versatility as part of our team.
"I look forward to him doing good things in the classroom and on the field."
Brandon is the son of Mark and Tammy Longworth.
He plans to major in computer science.
"I chose IU East because it is close to home - I live right down the road - and because of the price," Longworth said.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves will field a full track and field team for the first time during the 2010-11 school year.
