The Indiana University East volleyball team will make its first public appearance of the 2010 season Aug. 14 with a preseason event at Clark State Community College.
Play is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
The event will not count toward IU East's 2010 record.
LAST TIME OUT
IU East is coming off of a 30-12 season that ended in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Clark State is part of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The Eagles were 4-13 last season.
NOTABLE QUOTABLE
"I think from our perspective it's a chance to get on the court against an opponent that's not us. We'll be able to get a look at how we adjust while we're playing. We'll get a look at all of our players and identify any opportunities to make improvements or correct flaws that become obvious in a match.
"It's a good chance to get out of the gate and treat like a tuneup for (the season-opening tournament starting Aug. 20 at) Grace College."
- IU East coach Charlie Brown
