The Indiana University East volleyball team concludes its preseason with a scrimmage at Indiana Institute of Technology at 6 p.m. on Aug. 18.

Official scoring will not be kept in accordance with NAIA scrimmage guidelines.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East opened its preseason Aug. 14 with an event at Clark State Community College. The Red Wolves took the floor against Clark State and Ohio State University at Marion.

IU East is 0-1 all-time against Indiana Tech. The Red Wolves fell 25-15, 25-9, 25-11 against the Warriors in 2008. Indiana Tech was ranked 31st in the NAIA Volleyball Coaches Top 25 at the time.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Indiana Tech is the preseason favorite in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The Warriors were 34-11 in 2009 and finished in the top 12 at the NAIA National Championship.

Indiana Tech has all six of its starters back, including second-team All-America outside hitter Ashley Hamilton.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

IU East junior defensive specialist/libero Madison Qualkenbush (New Castle, Ind./New Castle Chrysler High School) and junior outside hitter Courtney Flory (New Paris, Ohio/National Trail High School) were on the Red Wolves roster when IU East played against Indiana Tech in 2008.

Qualkenbush made a pair of digs and had an ace against the Warriors.

Flory had a kill, a dig and a solo block.
