Red Wolves - IU East

The Indiana University East volleyball team plays at Indiana Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. on Sept. 1.

The Red Wolves are 10-0. The Wildcats are 3-1.

MILESTONE MARKER

IU East can match the NAIA school record for best start to a season with a win. The 2007 team started 11-0.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East is coming off of a perfect weekend at the University of Rio Grande Aces in August Classic. The Red Wolves swept five matches to claim the tournament title.

IU East beat Martin Methodist College in thd championship match.

Indiana Wesleyan went 3-1 at the Red Raider Classic in Orange City, Iowa. The Wildcats capped the tournament with wins against NAIA No. 27 Dordt College and NAIA No. 18 Morningside College.

This is the first meeting between IU East and Indiana Wesleyan.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Indiana Wesleyan appears to have bounced back quickly from an 11-31 season in 2009.

The Wildcats got a boost from the addition of 5-11 middle hitter Peyton Thompson, a transfer from NCAA Division I East Carolina University.

Thompson leads the team in aces, kills and blocks.

Another newcomer, 5-9 freshman outside hitter Rae Brandes, is Indiana Wesleyan's No. 2 hitter.

"We're really pumped to play our game Wednesday because we know (Indiana Wesleyan) has reloaded on the front row and on the back row, but we have too, and we've been displaying that with our play.
