Red Wolves - IU East

The Indiana University East men's cross country team will host Cincinnati Christian University at 5 p.m. on Sept. 7 on the Indiana University East Cross Country Course.

A grand opening ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7 in the Hayes Hall patio area. IU East will recognize Reid Hospital and Health Care Services, the signature sponsor of the IU East Cross Country Course.

The finish area for the IU East cross country course is located between Hayes Hall and Tom Raper Hall on the east side of the IU East campus.

MILESTONE MARKER

This is the first intercollegiate meet on the IU East Cross Country Course and the first on-campus NAIA intercollegiate athletics event in IU East history.

This also is the first dual meet in IU East's cross country history.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East's men's team finished fifth out of seven teams at the A-J Special on Sept. 2 at Asbury University.

This is Cincinnati Christian's first meet of the 2010 season.

IU East finished ahead of CCU at the 2009 Wilmington College Invitational, the most recent time two schools competed in the same event.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Cincinnati Christian University is a member of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but competes at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) level in cross country.

The Eagles finished 22nd in the NCCAA national meet in 2009.

RUNNER TO WATCH

IU East sophomore Justin Taylor (Waynesville, Ohio/Wilmington College) led the Red Wolves with a 15th-place finish at the A-J Special.
