Fortini Honored as RSC SID of the Year
RICHMOND, Ind. - Indiana University East's Nick Fortini was named the 2025-26 River States Conference Sports Information Director of the Year the league announced on Tuesday, July 7.
"I'm humbled to be recognized with this award," Fortini said. "I work with great colleagues and any of them could've earned this award."
Fortini is beginning his fifth year with the Red Wolves, while also serving as IU East's Associate Athletic Director.
"Throughout my career, I've believed that sports information is about more than scores and statistics," Fortini continued. "It's about building relationships, creating opportunities, and telling the stories that define an athletic department."
In a press release, RSC Assistant Commissioner Ryan Murphy said. "Nick Fortini is as dependable as they come. He runs an extremely successful athletic communications office, all the while taking on additional duties on his campus. College athletics would be better served with more people like Nick."
This is Fortini's second SID of the Year honor as he was recognized by the Golden State Athletic Conference in 2017 during his time at San Diego Christian University.
The RSC award is voted on by the athletic directors and the sports information directors. According to the conference, it annually recognizes one honoree for outstanding service and dedication to the sports information role in promotion of their student-athletes, school, conference and the NAIA.
