Men's Basketball: IU Kokomo 84, IU East 77

KOKOMO, Ind. - A 14-point run hurt the Indiana University East men's basketball team as the Red Wolves fell 84-77 at IU Kokomo on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The Red Wolves led the River States Conference affair at 63-59 at the 9:51 mark before the Cougars scored the next 14 points to build a 73-63 advantage with 5:55 left in the Student Activities and Events Center.

IU East is now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while the Cougars are 5-1, 1-0.

Jake Johnson led the Red Wolves with 16 points as Tobey Billups was the only other IU East player in double figures with 15 points and five assists.

Jamisen Smith finished with nine points as Colt Meyer and Lorenzo Lewis added eight points apiece. Lewis also topped the squad with eight rebounds.

The game was tied 10 times and both teams had small leads until the decisive run by the Cougars.

The Red Wolves return to action against conference foe St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Saturday, Nov. 19. The first annual Kingston Sanders Memorial Game on Lingle Court gets underway at 3 p.m.
