Men's Basketball: IU East at SMWC Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team visits St. Mary-of-the-Woods College for the first time on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Hamilton Arena will be the site of the River States Conference matchup that begins at 7:30 p.m.

IU East is 12-11 overall and 6-7 in the conference after the Red Wolves dropped a 75-72 contest to IU Kokomo at home on Jan. 31.

The Pomeroys are 7-14 with a 2-10 mark in the RSC. SMWC defeated Carlow University 92-62 in its most recent contest last weekend.

* IU East leads 2-0 in the all-time series with the Pomeroys.

* The Red Wolves beat SMWC 76-65 in the earlier game this season on Lingle Court with Jake Johnson leading the way with 20 points, while Jamisen Smith added 19. Bryce Long tossed in 13 points.

* Colt Meyer led IU East with 23 points against IU Kokomo as Johnson had 21. Long scored 11 points with Sekou Maiga contributing nine points, five blocks and a pair of rebounds.

* Elkin Ramirez led SMWC with 20 points in the win over Carlow, while Davin Miller finished with 16 and Keith Germain added 14 points.

* Germain had a game-high 25 points for the Pomeroys in the earlier game against IU East.
