Red Wolves Drop RSC Clash Against IU Kokomo

RICHMOND, Ind. – Colt Meyer's 23 points and Jake Johnson's 21 weren't quite enough to defeat regional-campus foe IU Kokomo on Tuesday night, as the Red Wolves lost 75-72.

The loss drops IUE to 12-11 overall and 6-7 in conference play.

Both teams held leads in each half. The Red Wolves started the game with the lead. Sekou Maiga and Kobe Ward gave them a 3-0 lead to start off. IUK would take their first lead two minutes later and go on a 15-4 run to take an 8-point lead.

The Red Wolves answered with an even bigger run, a 25-7 run to give them a 30-20 lead with 3:49 to play. They kept the lead until halftime but the Cougars trimmed it down to just two points.

The Red Wolves kept their lead until the 15:47 mark in the second half. From there both teams exchanged leads until seven minutes left in the game. IU Kokomo grabbed the lead for good after an and-1 play from Noah Harris.

Bryce Long came off the bench and scored 11 points. Sekou Maiga added nine points, five blocks, and two rebounds.

The Red Wolves will travel to St. Mary of the Woods on Thursday.
