Men's Basketball: IU East at Rio Grande Preview
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team travels to the University of Rio Grande for a River States Conference Quarterfinal contest on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Part of a doubleheader that also features the IU East women's squad, the men's game with the RedStorm in Newt Oliver Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m.
After surviving four overtimes in a 117-115 win over WVU Tech in the first round, IU East is 16-13 overall with two straight wins.
Rio Grande is 23-5 with nine victories in a row. The RedStorm are the top seed in the tournament as the winner of the RSC East Division with a 16-1 record, which gives Rio Grande an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship.

* IU East is 14-1 all-time against the RedStorm, which includes an 86-69 loss at Rio Grande back in January.
* Colt Meyer topped IU East with 30 points in the win over WVU Tech, while Jake Johnson tossed in 26.
* Tavian Tatum had a career-high 24 points with 11 rebounds versus the Golden Bears. Jamisen Smith finished with 19 points as Kobe Ward posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
* Rio Grande defeated Carlow University 88-46 in its regular season finale last weekend as Kaden Warner led the way with 21 points. Shiloah Blevins had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the contest.
