Men's Basketball: IU East 83, Oakland City 58
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team picked up an 83-58 victory over Oakland City University on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
IU East is now 8-17 overall with a 4-11 record in the River States Conference, while Oakland City is 7-18 and 2-13.
With the win, IU East takes the season series with Oakland City as the Red Wolves won 85-80 over the Mighty Oaks earlier this season.
Jake Johnson led the Red Wolves with 19 points as four others reached double digits in the contest at the Johnson Center.
Devon Woods was next with 15 points as Antuane Allen tossed in 12. Tobey Billups and Colt Meyer both finished with 11 points.
The Mighty Oaks worked their way to a 15-8 advantage at the 11:38 mark of the opening half before the Red Wolves answered.
A jumper by Allen put IU East on top 20-19 with 7:54 left in the period. Eventually, the Red Wolves led 32-22 at the intermission.
In the second frame, the Red Wolves pulled away to post the victory.
The Red Wolves return to action at home against Brescia University on Saturday, Feb. 17. The conference affair on Lingle Court gets underway at 1 p.m.
