Men's Basketball: IU East 97, Oakland City 92
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team picked up its third win in a row as the Red Wolves defeated Oakland City University 97-92 on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
With the River States Conference win, IU East is now 11-8 overall and 5-2 in the league as the Red Wolves are on top in the East Division. Oakland City falls to 5-14 and 2-5.
Antuane Allen led IU East with a game-high 27 points on Lingle Court. Jake Johnson tossed in 19 points with Kyle Tolbert adding 18 points.
Tobey Billups finished with 12 points and seven assists for the Red Wolves. Tolbert, Jameer Ajibade and Tarrell Jewell all pulled down seven rebounds apiece.
After the score was tied at 6-6, the Red Wolves took control in the opening half as they led 52-31 at the intermission. Oakland City battled back in the second half to close the gap to five points on several occasions as the Red Wolves were able to hang on to take the victory.
The Red Wolves are back in action with another home contest against Brescia University on Saturday, Jan. 25. The RSC affair gets underway at 1 p.m.
