Men's Basketball: IU East 89, Brescia 72

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team picked up an 89-72 River States Conference victory over Brescia University on Friday, Jan. 23.

The Red Wolves are now 10-10 overall and 2-6 in the league. Brescia falls to 3-14 and 3-5.

Cole Henry topped the Red Wolves with 26 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

Also scoring in double figures for the Red Wolves were Caleb Maurer (13), Tarrell Jewell (12) and Mikey Johnson (10). Johnson handed out six assists.

The contest was tight early as Brescia led 11-9 at 15:02 before Henry capped a nine-point IU East run with a 3-pointer that put the Red Wolves on top 18-11 at the 13:26 mark.

From that point, IU East built a 44-32 advantage by the intermission.

The Bearcats cut IU East's lead to 67-64 with 7:56 remaining in the second half, but the Red Wolves responded to take the win.

Next up for IU East is another road trip as the Red Wolves visit Kentucky Christian University on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The RSC matchup gets underway at 6 p.m.
