Men's Basketball: IU East 100, IU Columbus 72
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team took care of business on Lingle Court as the Red Wolves downed IU Columbus 100-72 on Saturday, Jan. 31.
With the River States Conference victory, IU East is now 11-11 overall and 3-7 in the league. The Crimson Pride are 2-20 and 0-10.
Cole Henry topped the Red Wolves with 22 points as Mikey Johnson finished with 17 points to go with a game-high seven assists.
Also scoring in double digits for IU East were Jerimiah Landers with 14 and Caleb Maurer with 13. Kobe Watson and Kyle Tolbert tossed in nine points each.
The Crimson Pride got off to a fast start holding a 9-2 advantage before a steal and dunk by Henry fired up the Red Wolves. Later in the first half, Henry drilled a 3-pointer to tie the affair at 15-15 with 13:41 remaining.
By the end of the opening stanza IU East built at 53-39 lead. The Red Wolves went on to put the game away in the second half.
The Red Wolves return to action at home against Midway University on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The RSC game gets underway at 6 p.m.
