Men's Golf: Earlham Fall Invitational Day 1 Recap
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's golf team is tied for second place after the opening day of the Forest Hills Invitational hosted by Earlham College on Saturday, Sept. 17.
The Red Wolves carded a team score of 312 as did Wabash College. Earlham leads the field of nine squads with a 309.
"We were able to accomplish what you want out of a first round by playing well enough to stay in contention," IU East coach Jeff Williams said. "Of course, there are a couple other teams saying the same thing so we'll see how well our guys respond. Tomorrow will be a fun day of college golf."
Jake Miller led IU East with a 77, which has him in fourth place overall. Sam Firebaugh and Austin Shelley both had a 78 and are tied for 10th.
The other scores for the Red Wolves were Conrad Emmons (79, 14th) and Emiliano Tercero (80, 16th).
Sam Roberts (78, 10th) topped the Red Wolves playing as individuals followed by Mason Hahn (80, 16th), Mark Byerly (89, 45th), Dillon Letendre (90, 47th) and Aiden Collins (98, 59th).
Sunday's final round at the Forest Hills Country Club gets underway at 8 a.m.
