Miller Honored as Golfer of the Year at RSC Championships
FLORENCE, Ind. - Indiana University East's Jake Miller was named the River States Conference Golfer of the Year for a second straight time on Tuesday, April 17.
Miller finished second on the leaderboard in the 2023 RSC Championships after Midway University's Hayes Mason won a playoff on the first hole at the Belterra Resort Course. Miller's three-day total was 74-72-80-226 as he earned a spot on the All-RSC First Team for the third year in a row.
As a team, IU East finished fourth of 11 squads with a score of 313-324-321-958. Midway (308-320-290-918) won the team title followed by IU Kokomo (320-323-303-946) and Oakland City University (323-321-311-955).
The other individual totals for the Red Wolves were Austin Shelley 75-82-83-240 (T16th), Sam Firebaugh 82-85-75-242 (T18th), Emiliano Tercero 82-85-83-250 (T29th) and Alex Beatty 90-87-96-273 (46th).
Sam Roberts of IU East was named to the RSC Men's Golf Champions of Character Team.
Next up for the Red Wolves is the Earlham College Spring Invitational at the Elks Country Club on April 23-24.
