Men's Golf: UPike Invite Day 2 Recap

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – Bad weather forced the cancellation of the second round of the University of Pikeville Spring Invitational on Tuesday, April 2.

Only the first round of competition was used to determine the final results, which has the Indiana University East men's golf team finishing second in the event at the StoneCrest Golf Course posting a 292.

Georgia's Reinhardt University was the top squad just two shots better than the Red Wolves in the eight-team event with a 290.

IU East's Sam Firebaugh was second on the individual leaderboard with 69, while Mason Compton of Alice Lloyd College was the medalist with 68.

Jake Miller and Rafa Beirana both had 74s for the Red Wolves to put them in a tie for 11th place.

Also scoring for the Red Wolves were Will Barnes (75, T18th), Austin Shelley (75, T18th) and Riley Bratton (82, T43rd).

Next up for the Red Wolves is the Ackerman-Allen Invite hosted by Taylor University at Purdue University on Monday, April 15.
