Men's Golf: The Indy at Forest Hills Recap
RICHMOND, Ind. - Indiana University East's golf men's golf team had four players compete in The Indy at Forest Hills Fall Invitational hosted by Miami University on Friday, Sept. 29.
Jake Miller led IU East with a 71-72-143 as he tied with three others for sixth place out of 49 golfers.
"It was a great day of high-level golf," IU East coach Jeff Williams said. "I couldn't be more proud of how all four played on a very tough golf course."
Sam Firebaugh finished in a tie for 12th for the Red Wolves as he carded a 73-73-146.
Will Barnes was next for IU East with 76-74-150, which put him in 28th.
Austin Shelley tied for 29th just behind Barnes at 75-76-151.
Team scores were not kept for the 36-hole tournament that featured 11 Division I schools.
Jude Kim of the University of Michigan won the event with a 67-72-139.
Next up for the Red Wolves is the River States Conference Fall Preview at the Glade Springs Resort in West Virginia on Oct. 2-3.
