Men's Golf Breaks Record, Finishes First in Delaware Shootout

MUNCIE, Ind. – Sam Firebaugh shot a 3-under to help the IU East men's golf team to a first-place finish in the IU East Delaware Shootout.  

The team score of 561 was also the lowest in a 36-hole tournament for the Red Wolves in school history, breaking the previous mark of 572.

Jake Miller finished with a 70-73, good for eighth. Will Barnes finished tied for tenth after he went 75-70. Austin Shelley was next in 18^th (67-82). Emiliano Tercero rounded out IU East's Team A with an 83-69.

For Team B, Riley Bratton finished first with a 76-74, good for 26^th. Alex Beatty (53^rd, 78-82) and Ryan Craig (53^rd, 84-76) tied for second on Team B. Dillon Letendre finished in 62^nd with a 91-76. Mason Hahn was next at 90-78.

Zach Jewell (90-84), Mark Byerley (89-86), and Zach Rutan (86-94) competed as individuals for the Red Wolves.

IU East will be back on the course Friday at Forest Hills Country Club.
