Men's Golf: IU East at Hampton Farms Intercollegiate Day 1 Recap

AHOSKIE, N.C. - The Indiana University East men's golf team is currently in eighth place after two rounds of the Hampton Farms Intercollegiate at Beechwood Country Club on Monday,  April 6.

Sam Firebaugh leads the Red Wolves as he is tied for second individually after 36 holes at 74-72-146. Ryan Jahr of Barton University matched Firebaugh with 75-71-146 as the duo trails D.J. Norman of Cedarville University, who is at the top of the leaderboard with a 73-70-143.

IU East's other scores on the opening day were Noah Mulford (79-74-153, T21st), Landon True (74-80-154, T26th), Dare Bowles (84-77-161, T50th) and Kylan Nash (87-86-173, 61st).

Cedarville University is leading the field with a team score of 305-291-596 as the Yellow Jackets are followed by the University of Mount Olive (309-290-599), Barton University (300-299-599) and Fayetteville State University (303-296-599) in the three-way tie for second.

The other team scores are Chowan University (314-296-610), Virginia Union University (308-304-612), Southern Wesleyan University (313-299-612), IU East (311-303-614) and Elizabeth City State University (340-329-669).

The Red Wolves will play the final round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday, April 7. Play gets underway at 9 a.m.
