CENTERVILLE, Ind. - A pair of goals late in the second half proved to be the difference as the Indiana University East men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Lawrence Tech University on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
The Red Wolves got the scoring underway at Centerville High School with a successful penalty kick by Callum Coleman at 36:50.
Lawrence Tech answered with a goal at the 42:16 mark of the opening period as the teams went into the intermission deadlocked at 1-1.
The Blue Devils (1-0) picked up goals at 83:32 and 86:41 to gain control.
IU East goalkeeper Alex Visscher recorded eight saves.
Next up for the Red Wolves (0-1) is a match against Holy Cross College on Saturday, Aug. 26. The non-conference affair at Eaton (Ohio) High School starts at 5:30 p.m.
